"Do you guys remember the plan?" the girl asked the two brothers.
"Yeah yeah don't worry about it," Dante answered, unworried.
He turned his head towards her and grinned. Dante loved parties, but balls, not so much. Although, seeing Lucrecia in her ravishing red dress, he would have gone to a million balls. Vergil looked at his grinning brother and turned his head away towards the limousine's window.
"We're almost there. Do you two have your invitations?" he asked them.
"I have it," said the girl, taking a red envelope out of her silk clutch.
"Got it," answered Dante while waving an identical envelope in front of Vergil's face.
Annoyed, he shoved Dante's hand away and turned toward Lucrecia.
"And do you have...?" he asked.
She nodded, then pulled her dress towards her to reveal a large ornate knife attached to her outer thigh. Dante's smile grew larger as she revealed more and more skin.
"Dress to kill," he joked.
Lucrecia laughed. Vergil remained silent. After a few minutes, the limousine stopped and the three companions exited the vehicle. They made their way to the enormous mansion were the ball was held and after showing their forged invitations to the doorman, they entered the ballroom.

The gigantic ballroom was filled with richly dressed people. A bar stood beneath the two winding staircases where Lucrecia, Vergil and Dante were standing. She, dressed in a long red velvet dress, descended the staircases first, followed by the twins who were both wearing black tuxedos. The only difference in their attire was their ties: Dante had a red tie and Vergil, a blue one. Both boys arrived next to Lucrecia at the bottom of the stairs and starred at the people in the room.
"This room is crawling with demons," whispered Lucrecia.
"I know," answered Vergil in a concerned voice.
Lucrecia wasn't a demon nor an angel like the twins, but she possessed powers nonetheless that helped them track down demons and other dark creatures in Limbo. She could read people's minds and move objects without touching them. She had worked for The Order for awhile with Vergil before Dante joined them. Since then, she had always been there with him during missions and had secretly developed feelings for him, but she never dared to tell him, fearing that it might jeopardize their ultimate mission.
The three partners separated in the room. Vergil made his way to one of the balconies while Dante went straight to the bar, as usual. He ordered himself a glass of whiskey and, after drinking it all in one sip, was shortly joined by his lovely companion. She leaned against the counter seductively and scanned the room. Dante looked at her with a smile and, after combing his fingers through his dark brown hair, moved closer to the young woman.
"Having a nice time, miss?" he asked, gentleman-like.
"Oh I'm having a wonderful time," she answered, smoothly.
They both laughed. Vergil looked at them with clenched palms. He had worked many years with Lucrecia and had always had strong feelings for her, but he never had the courage to tell her. Since Dante joined their team, he grew more and more infuriated by the fact that she seemed to like him more that himself, even though his brother clearly had moral issues. He would drink all the time, would sleep with every hot girl he would find and would break all of The Order's rules. These things did not mind Vergil until he saw that Lucrecia had a clear interest in him... and that Dante had a clear interest in her...
Time Lapse by Michael Nyman started to play and Dante, feeling like he should make a move, moved closer to Lucrecia, took her hand in his and asked her in a most seductive way:
"Would you care to dance, miss Lucy?"
Butterflies started to fill the young girls stomach. She felt like a young teenager again, reliving her first love. She smiled at Dante with blushing cheeks and answered:
"Why, I would be delighted, Dante."
And so they both got on the dance floor and started to dance. As the music progressed, Dante's hands moved more and more about Lucrecia's back, sliding slowly towards her hips and her lower-back. The young girl held her hands behind Dante's neck and starred directly into his eyes. She felt a sudden warmth course through her body as Dante's hands slid towards the lower part of her back. At some point, he took her by the neck and bent her back towards the ground, holding her in position with his other hand on her thigh. Shivers ran down her back as she gasped in surprise.
"Don't worry, I won't let you go," said Dante, softly.
He slowly raised her back into dancing position and starred into her deep blue eyes. As they danced slower and slower, he could not help but feel her light blond hair with his fingers. Lucrecia slowly closed her eyes as Dante's hand slid onto the back of her head. She could feel him moving closer and closer to her. Then, suddenly, some force pulled her away from him. She opened her eyes, stunned and confused, only to realize that Vergil had come and claimed her as a dance partner. She starred into Vergil's eyes, who were busy starring at Dante.
"Vergil, what are you...?" she started to say.
"I..." babbled Vergil. He didn't know what to answer. "I think I've found who we were looking for," he finally said.
Lucrecia felt disappointed. She was sure that Dante was about to kiss her, but unfortunately, she would never know because of Vergil. She was not mad at him, because they did have a mission to complete and she had been sidetracked by Dante. She sighed slightly and looked around to see who Vergil was referring to.
"Who is it then?" she asked.
Vergil did not answer. He had separated Lucrecia from his brother not to tell her about the mission, but only so that he could have his chance with her. He was tired of always being the third wheel even though he was in charge. He wanted to tell Lucrecia exactly how he felt.
"Listen, Lucy, there's something I've been mean to tell you..." he started.
Lucrecia looked at him with curiosity and saw that Vergil's face had suddenly changed. He looked timid, almost embarassed, and his cheeks were turning red. She had always been used to seeing him with a serious and always calm expression on his face. She had never seen him in this condition before. What could he possibly have to say to her to make him this shy?
"Yes, Vergil?"
He was about to tell her how he felt, but suddenly, he saw one of the guests change into this tall, skinny and positively horrifying demon. He immediately shoves Lucrecia aside to take Yamato out.
"Dante!" shouts Vergil.
Dante, who had already seen the demon, was already running towards him with Ivory and Ebony in hand.
"Way ahead of you bro,'" he answered.
He then executed an Angel Lift before peppering the demon with bullets. A few moments after, the guests started to scream in panic and more demons appeared. Vergil ran towards one of them and diced it into pieces with his sword. Lucrecia, who was standing in the middle of the room, was surrounded by a blue aura and was lifting tables and chairs in the air with her mind. She then through them at incredible speed towards the demons, pinning then to the walls with the furniture legs. But the more the three were fighting off the demons, the more demons were appearing.
"They're multiplying! We need to kill the source!" yelled Vergil as he decapitated one of the demons.
"But which one of them IS the source?!" shouted Lucrecia.
The three of them kept fighting until one of the demons ran towards Lucrecia while she was lifting the bar up in the air.
"LUCY!" yelled the two brothers.
But the demon got to her before she could do anything about it. He grabbed her by the arm and held her against him before jumping up onto the chandelier. He then let Lucrecia dangled for the chandelier, still holding her by the arm. Underneath her was an enormous fountain with a knight holding a huge lance in his right hand. If the demon were to let go of Lucrecia, she would be impaled onto the knight's lance.
"Let go of your weapons or the girl dies!" said the demon, looking at the brothers.
Both boys looked at each other before letting go of their weapons. The demon laughed darkly.
"Seems like our two son's of Sparda have sensitive hearts after all. Mundus will be pleased with me when I'll..."
Suddenly, he stops talking as his chest is pierced by Lucrecia's ornate dagger. The demon immediately let go of her and she started to fall towards the statue. Fortunately, she was caught by Dante who, after executing another Angel Lift, flew to her rescue. After landing on the ground with Lucrecia in his arms, the demon started to melt into this massive puddle on black blood that dripped all over the chandelier. The other demons started to melt into identical puddles. When all of the demons were dead, Dante sighed and turned towards Lucrecia.
"You're so hot when you kill demons like that Lucy..." he said to her.
She laughed and he placed her back on the ground.
"Thanks. You're not so bad yourself, Son of Sparda," she answered him with a wink.
"Wow! I love how you say "Son of Sparda". Sounds way dirtier when it comes out of your mouth."
Lucrecia giggles once more and blushes. She finally puts her arm around Dante's and says:
"Why don't we all go celebrate tonight's success, hmm? What do you say, Vergil?" she asks.
They both turned towards were Vergil was standing, but Vergil had mysteriously vanished...
Can't wait until DmC's official release! So, in the meantime, I decided to post this short fan fic of the game with some personnal touches, starting with my own DmC character: Lucrecia (Lucy). She is very similar to Kat from DmC, but I didn't like Kat all that much. She lacked a certain... je-ne-sais-quoi that I think I added into Lucy. Anyway, I hope you guys like it. If I get enough Favorites, I'll write a part 2 of this ;)

Enjoy!
